A clean slate for 2016
Janet Brown, Life Coach, found time in her busy schedule to tell me how we can celebrate our achievements and ensure we are living the lives we really want to live. Take a read of her tips here…
Hey ladies,
I’m asking you to celebrate all of your acheivements, including you and being here right now.
Acknowledging this puts you in good stead for all you want to achieve for the future. So how do you do it? Here’s my tips on where to start:
Your good feelings
At times we dwell on what hasn’t happened. We should be aware of this by putting a positive spin on it that you can recharge and reset.
This takes you away from feelings of guilt and shame. Make a new plan to go forward with renewed energy.
Energy is the vibration that we feel and act on. We talk about the action of goals in order to fulfil them and we have good feelings about them. This includes inspiration and motivation.
Take a moment to think about your thoughts and feelings towards the desires you want. I can sum-up feelings with these points:
– Feelings are the driving force in life that allow us to act on things.
– Feelings do change and are constantly being replaced by others. This is the change of heart that we speak about.
Test your feelings
On paper, write how you feel about the following areas:
Yourself – how do you feel about you, including body image, thoughts and inner being.
How do you fit in the world? is it incongruent with your values?
Family– connections/relationships to spouse, siblings,parents,children and wider family. How do you feel about your interactions and the role you play?
Friends– the role you play in friendships,do they lift or drain you ? How do you deal with problems or resolve matters? How do you feel about sharing your life with the people in it? How do you celebrate them?
Career/Job/Business – What are your feelings about what should be a passionate part of life? What are your feelings to the benefits it provides you, financially and other wise? What are the rewards/the end goal?
Finance – What feelings come up for you when you think of the money in your possession? Do you feel you invest and spend money well or do you share it?
Decide on what feelings you want vibrated in each area to motivate and inspire you to be happy.
Here are some general tools that you can use:
- Have quiet time each day to breath and connect with yourself.
- Affirmations, e.g. I am feeling good about who I am, it is my birthright to do so.
- Be around people who have a good feeling vibe and make sure they are in your social group.
- Dance brings a feel good factor.
- Communicate clearly about your feelings with those who matter in your life.
- Read inspiring books.
- Embrace yourself – a self-hug and smile in the mirror every day.
- Cook your favorite healthy meal.
- Do an act of kindness to lift your mood.
- Speak to professionals who can upgrade your life, for example counsellors, coaches and advisers.
