Celebrating Windrush Day

I’m enjoying watching the stories of the Windrush generation and the other Caribbeans who came after them.

My parents came to the UK from Barbados in the early 1960’s and they always shared their stories with us – of good times and bad. I’m so grateful to the older generations and my parents for enduring hardship & racism- for surviving so many difficulties so that we could have opportunities in the UK.

Our Unrecognised heroes

I feel like they have often been unrecognised heroes, so deserve to be celebrated. So it’s great to have Windrush day but I hope we continue to remember them 365 days a year. God bless them all.
